image Orange County Arboretum is very grateful for the generous support of its donors. Your gifts make it possible for the Arboretum to maintain this historic property and carry-out its mission of horticultural excellence and dedication to environmental education.
The Arboretum Commemorative Giving program offers you the opportunity to honor someone special, commemorate an occasion, or establish a memorial with a donation of a park bench, or the planting of a tree.

Plant a Tree
A tree is a unique gift to remember family and friends – a symbol of life. Donors who purchase trees, along with those being honored, will be included on a plaque located in the Ruth and Jim Ottaway Education Center. A letter of acknowledgment will be sent, indicating the location of the tree.
Two sizes of trees are available:
  • $500 donation will provide planting and perpetual care for 1-2 ½” caliber.
  • $700 donation will provide planting and perpetual care for 3-5” caliber.
  • An additional $200 per each caliber inch over 5 inches. (i.e. 6” = $900)
Choosing a Tree
The arboretum maintains a list of desirable trees for potential giving. Trees on this list coordinate with the Arboretum Master Plan. Siting for gift trees will depend on the plants environmental requirements. The Master Plan Tree List is available by request by calling the Friends of the Orange County Arboretum at (845) 615-3828.

Bench Donations
A $1,800 donation will sponsor a teak or stone park bench with commemorative plaque.

A Helping Hand
Your donation of $25 or more will be placed in a fund established for year round care of the arboretum’s tree collections.
  • Bronze Plaque: For $350, a custom cast 5”x 7” bronze plaque, set in stone and positioned at the tree base, for perpetuity. The cast bronze plaque allows for up to three lines of classic Roman type, with a total of 35 characters, excluding spaces.
