image The Orange County Arboretum welcomes school groups, families and other children's organizations to enjoy our beautiful and educational gardens.

The Children’s Garden was designed to connect children with nature. Education is a central focus of our mission, which is why we are delighted to be able to teach life and Earth science to school children and their teachers as well as families.

March 31, 2018 
New and Improved Seed Starting 
Location : Kosuga Classroom 
01:00 PM to 02:00 PM 

There are many ways to start seeds indoors to be planted outside when the weather has warmed up. We will be discussing some seed starting ideas and making a few samples using environmentally friendly methods for kids ages 7 and up to take home.

Registation required by calling 845-615-3828. Cost is $5 per child.

Let's Make a Fairy Garden 
Location : Kosuga Classroom 
01:00 PM to 02:00 PM 

 If you're looking for a kid-friendly gardening project this spring, consider the fairy garden. These whimsical container gardens offer kids a mini, planted playspace of their own with endless opportunity for customization and make-believe.

We will be using plastic containers, soil and plants and many fun things to accessorize their take-home fairy garden.

Registration required by calling 845-615-3828.  Cost is $10 per child.

June 10, 2018 
Fairy Festival 
Location : Grounds of Orange County Arboretum 
12:00 PM to 04:00 PM 

If you missed in 2017, you should bring all your little fairies to our fun festival. There will be activities such as crown making, story time with fairy house building, face painting, wand making, a fairy parade at 1:30 and a hunt in the garden for evidence of fairy activity, plus more.
